Beachbody ON DEMAND

If you haven't heard or seen on my page yet - the newest thing Beachbody is launching soon is their On Demand program. So I just want to go over all the juicy details so I can answer any questions you might have all in one spot!
With Beachbody On Demand, you will have the ability to instantly stream any workout that is in the Beachbody Digital Library. You can stream to any mobile device, phone, or laptop - ANYWHERE you have an internet connection. No more lugging DVD players and DVDs with you when you're out of town! Not only do you have access to the workouts - but you also get the digital versions of the program guides, workout calendars, and nutrition programs. The digital library will be updated monthly, so you'll definitely never run out of options. If you have Beachbody ADD and like to do more than one program at a time - this is definitely for you! :) Or if you are someone who would rather do your P90X programs at the gym instead of at home - all you need is your mobile device and you're ready to go.

You might also really like On Demand if you're just trying to maintain your current fitness level and want to keep it fun by trying out a bunch of different programs. There will be plenty to choose from!

Soooo when does it come out and how much is it??

On Monday, March 2nd - Beachbody On Demand will be available to every Team Beachbody Customer and Coach that has a club membership. This club membership is our all-access pass to an amazing library of tools that were created to help you get real results. You'll get an online site with meal planners, recipes, tips, and tools to help you throughout your entire program. You can get the club membership by contacting your current Beachbody Coach and asking how you can upgrade your account. If you don't have a coach, I would love to walk you through the steps to starting your club membership.

The cost will be $2.99 a week but it is billed quarterly (every three months) at $38.87. You can cancel or change it at any time and you're not locked into anything whatsoever....no contract. There is no additional cost to stream anything....the only thing you pay is that quarterly fee and you instantly have access to the customized meal planning feature with printable grocery lists and you get access to celebrity trainer chats and support groups as well. But most importantly - you'll have a coach, like ME to help you along and you can join my support and accountability groups. Why Do I Do It?

One thing I've been asked a lot lately is why I'm doing the extreme/countdown to competition meal plan that goes along with the 21 Day Fix. And I've been thinking a lot about it and wanted to get some of my thoughts out. Writing helps me with that, so here we go.

So let me back up a bit. If you have no prior knowledge of what I'm doing....I'm on Day 10 of the 21 Day Fix Extreme program. First of all - these workouts are the bomb.com. The original 21 Day Fix was my favorite program to date (read about that journey here), but this one definitely takes the cake and has moved to my #1 spot. So anywho - there are two nutrition plans that you can follow. One is the Extreme Meal Plan - which is very similar to the original 21 Day Fix meal plan except that it's a little more strict, offering no cheats and no alcohol for the entire 21 Day duration. And then there is the countdown to competition meal plan. This meal plan looks a little different in that 2 days you follow that (carb depletion days) and one day you follow the extreme plan. When you're following the countdown to comp plan, you are allowed less yellow containers (carbs), no purple containers (fruit), no orange (dressings/seeds/nuts),....but you eat a TON more protein!

The last two days were my first following that plan and I'll have to admit, it's definitely much more challenging. She suggests that you eat every 2 hours and you're eating SO much protein so you are literally eating all day and you are NEVER super hungry. I like the part about not being hungry, but it did feel like every time I turned around, I was eating!

Why am I doing the countdown to competition plan? I'm not doing it because I plan on competing. Nor am I doing it because I think I have a lot of weight to lose. I'm doing it for a few different reasons. One, I LOVE to challenge myself and to see how far I can push myself. This meal plan is doing just that for sure. Two, I want to be a credible source for people when they ask me what I think of the meal plan. If I don't try it myself, how can I give feedback to my challengers and coaches about it? I take my coaching business very seriously - and I want to help people as best I can. So that means doing the hard work myself first so I can talk honestly and from experience. Here is a quick visual showing the major differences between the original 21 Day Fix and the 21 Day Fix Extreme.

A few things that I like about the 21 day fix nutrition plan so far
  • I love to eat - so it was nice to be able to eat a lot and often and to never feel like I'm starving
  • I really just FEEL better. I feel like I have more energy because I'm paying attention to when I'm eating and I'm making sure to eat the right things at the right times. When I'm not following a plan like this I feel like I get off course really easy. I already feel like I'm at my leanest, my stomach has thinned out and I don't feel bloated, and I feel like I'm getting a LOT stronger from the workouts.
  • My body is changing and it's only been 10 days. I'm not going to sit here and tell you that it's easy and that you're definitely going to lose 10-15 pounds in 21 Days. Honestly, people who tell everyone that drive me a little crazy. Everyone is different. Our bodies are made differently and our bodies gain and lose weight differently. It all depends on how much weight you have to lose, what your metabolism is like, how strictly you plan to follow the program and your nutrition plan. For example - when I started 10 days ago, I was the heaviest I'd been in a while. The weeks leading up to starting this, I allowed a lot more cheat type meals and snacks, wine and desserts than I have in a long time. So I had some extra weight put on because of that. I could tell the world that I lost 5 pounds in 10 days so far because of the program to get people hooked in, but I'm not going to do that without sharing the whole story. Those 5 pounds were extra pounds that I tend to gain and lose very quickly once I start to change my nutrition. After that 5 pounds is where my hard work is really showing. So PLEASE be careful believing everything you see in social media. Remember that YOU are an individual. You can't be promised that you'll definitely lose 15 pounds in 21 Days and that it will be easy. It will be hard work. It will take dedication to your workouts and it will take will power in the kitchen. But I can tell you this - it's SO worth it! There is no magic pill or patch that's going to give you the body or health you always wanted. You have to work for it the old fashioned way and make it a lifestyle and not a diet. This is the only way you'll maintain the body and life that you dream of.
  • Wow - I really went on a rant in that last one - sorry about that. Super passionate about this stuff, guys.
  • I've gained some invaluable knowledge about nutrition just from following this type of portion controlled nutrition plan. Even when I'm not following it strictly with a program, I still have the core values instilled in my brain and try to follow it as closely as I can.

A few things that I feel should be noted about the program:
  • It's not easy. You do the best you can and you should be PROUD of yourself for even making the effort to make your health a priority.
  • In the original 21 Day Fix you can have a few cheats and some wine for substituting a yellow container. You can't do that in the Extreme version. I do miss that part :) But they don't call it extreme for nothin!!
  • Do I think we all should use color coded portion controlled containers for the rest of our lives? Absolutely not! This is a learning tool. After this, you are mindful of portions and you know what kind of foods you should be eating each day. If someone tried to do this every day forever, they would start to develop a sick relationship with food and it would be too overwhelming.
  • Food is meant to be fuel for our bodies and we CAN enjoy it. Sometimes it's a little easy to get so wrapped up into the details that we can get frustrated and want to give up. DON'T! Just take a step back and think about how you can make it simpler.
I want to provide as much honest feedback as I can because I believe that is what truly helps people make the right decisions for themselves.  I cannot recommend the 21 Day Fix enough - and I will keep recommending it because it's an amazing program that has changed a LOT of lives.

I have 11 days left of the Extreme program and I can't wait to see what my progress looks like at the end. I already feel SO much better just after 10 days. I haven't been perfect - but I've been very dedicated and diligent in the kitchen. For me, 80% of my results and progress comes from my nutrition. The workouts make me stronger and the nutrition plan gives me the results I want.

I hope this helps anyone who wanted to know a little more about the meal plan and why I decided to do the more extreme one. Or if you didn't care at all before and just clicked on this link because you were bored - I hope you at least learned a few things about it :)

Extreme Meal Planning Time!

Tomorrow starts my journey with the new 21 Day Fix Extreme program. With this comes all new workouts and an all new, Extreme Eating Plan.

Do you know two of the most common reasons why people have trouble losing weight? A lot of people cut their calories far too low and their body isn't getting enough fuel. There are many problems with this...not only is it incredibly unhealthy, but your body can go into starvation mode and as soon as you start to eat in a more normal range of calories then the weight will come right back on. Another reason people have trouble losing weight is because they are focusing on eating "diet foods".

This is where the 21 Day Fix & the 21 Day Fix Extreme eating plans come in to rescue the day. This is what I love about this program.

**You have to eat a certain amount of containers per day which consist of all the different food groups that are in your suggested calorie level.
**You eat REAL, clean food on this meal plan. No diet food. And if you follow the plan, it is plenty of food and it leaves you feeling full and satisfied because you're eating what your body actually needs and fueling your body appropriatey.

So I did the original 21 Day Fix and you can read about my journey here, but this post is to talk more about the Extreme program and what that's going to mean for me starting tomorrow.

How does the Extreme meal plan differ from the original? Well Autumn Calabrese stepped this program up a few notches and she has included two different meal plans you can follow. One is the Extreme Eating Plan and one is her Countdown to Competition (she is a bikini competitor) Plan. The Extreme Eating Plan differs from the original 21 Day Fix in that it offers no cheats and no alcohol for the entire 21 days. Not only do you have no cheats, but Autumn has taken items off food lists in the Extreme Plan. Primarily the changes were made to what is allowed in the yellow container (carbs). In the original plan she allowed whole grain waffles....but this is not allowed in the 21 Day Fix Extreme. You can see a few others differences from the list below.

When you get your program delievered and you go through all of the materials, it can be a little bit overwhelming, especially reading through the meal plan. You think "how am I going to figure all of this out and make sure I eat the right things per day". Easy - #1, you get me as a coach and I help you figure it out. #2. plan plan plan. Your best bet at success with this program is planning. Preparing your meal plan, making sure you buy your groceries ahead of time, and develop a game plan. The biggest reason people fail is because they haven't planned appropriately. This is my meal plan for my first week....I have Stella's bday party on Saturday and haven't figured out the menu yet and another family birthday party on Sunday so I have the containers I'm allowed planned out and will make sure to follow that with whatever we decide on.

So this weekend I spent time preparing my meal plan for my first week. I decided I'm going to follow the Extreme Eating Plan for the first week and then then Countdown to Competition Plan the second and third week. I need to get my mindset right and back into the game. I have been far too lax in my nutrition, allowing too many cheats and too many handfuls of fish crackers over the last few weeks. It's hard for me, just like it is for any of you. Just because I'm a health and fitness coach doesn't mean that everything comes easy for me! Quite the opposite.

I'm going to take my pictures and measurements first thing in the morning tomorrow and to be completely honestly with you - I'm very nervous. I never weigh myself or take measurements anymore and I know that my food decisions over the last few weeks will make me very discouraged when I take all the measurements. But it proves the facts that I always teach. If you want the results, you have to be dedicated. With the funk I've been in with my knee problem and my routine getting all messed up, I've just slipped too much.

BUT. That is ok. I'm human and sometimes I take a few steps back. I'm a work in progress. Always. I've been pretty hard on myself over the last few weeks but I'm going to prove to myself that I have the extreme dedication and will power to complete this and get totally back on track. Autumn knows what she is doing and she creates great programs and proven nutrition plans so I know I won't be disappointed if I give it my all. PLUS - I have the support of my challengers in my online accountability group that will be doing the program WITH me. Accountability is the secret sauce people. If you want to learn more about my groups and what they are entail - message me and I'll fill you in. :) The original 21 Day Fix AND the 21 Day Fix Extreme programs are both on sale for the month of February so now is the perfect time to get yours too.

Just like I did with my original 21 Day Fix journey, I really want to try to document and share this journey as well. I want to give people a first-hand look at what the 21 days looks like so they can see if it might be something they want to do themselves. Join me in this fun journey over the next 21 days and root me on and let me do the same for you.

Fitting In

So I posted about this subject this morning on my Facebook and I've really been thinking about it a lot lately. I'll probably even feel a little anxious posting this because I feel like it exposes a lot. But it's ok....I want people to know the real me. When you meet me, you'd never really know that I have social anxiety because I don't seem like it. But the fact is, it's really hard for me. And it physically and emotionalyl exhausts me sometimes. Let me give you some examples.

When I have plans to do something, especially with a group of people - I have major anxiety leading up to it. I don't even know what about. I'm not scared of people. I really enjoy talking to people. BUT I am just not a huge fan of small talk. The regular questions that people ask all the time kind of make my skin crawl. I don't like talking about myself...especially the stuff that I feel you have to repeat over and over again. I think that's why I love meeting new people and I can try to spend all the time asking them questions about themselves. I love to have deeper, meaningful conversations and those are very easy for me to have.

But anyway - when I have something to go to - I usually have an inner freakout beforehand. I try to think of every excuse in the book to cancel the plans. I usually don't cancel because I also value people's time and I don't like to go back on my word when I say I'm going to do something. But I usually feel like I need a glass of wine before I get to wherever I'm going. NO, I don't do that - but I sure want to....to ease the nerves.

I'm always insanely early for anything I go to. Because one, I'm a time freak and I always have been and two, I feel so uncomfortable going to something by myself and showing up to a group of people. I'd rather be the first one there so I don't have an akward entrance. Not sure if that makes any sense, but it does in my head. :)

Another example. When we go to church, we are usually one of the first people there...we check our kids into their kid's programming and we go sit down. We aren't the people in the back chatting with other people. Because it freaks me out. I wish I could change that, but it's just the way I feel. Sometimes I'll see someone I know and I'll start to worry that they are going to talk to me. Isn't that awful? These are people I REALLY like and want as friends, yet I squirm and try to act busy with the girls so I can avoid small talk.

Sometimes this all leaves me feeling very overwhelmed and depressed and I feel like an outsider, because I make myself one. But I've come to the conclusion, that this is just the way I'm wired. I'm an introvert and I love to be home, I love my alone time (with my family of course), and I just am never going to be one that enjoys the small talk. Some days I beat myself up about it because I never want people to think I'm rude or stand-offish....because I truly do care about people. But as I've started to be more comfortable in my skin, I'm realizing that it's OK to be different. God made me this way for a reason and I just have a different path than that.

I think this is one of the biggest reasons I love being a Beachbody coach. I get to fulfill my passion of helping other people. I get to have a huge community of like minded people to talk to any time I want to. I meet new people all the time, through my team and through my challenge groups. And I can do it in a place where I'm more comfortable....at home. I do know that stepping outside of my comfort zone is especially important though so I make sure that I'm not a hermit and live my life behind a computer screen. But it's all about balance. I did a workout bootcamp at my church for a few weeks. Not because I wanted to, but because I was asked if I would and I knew it would be so beneficial to the women at my church AND to me - to get me out of that comfort zone. I was VERY nervous beforehand but each time got easier and easier. I know good things happen outside of your comfort zone.

So like anything else - I'm ALWAYS a WORK IN PROGRESS. I'm always working on the inner struggles. I guess I just wanted to share what was on my mind because I know there are others out there that can relate. And if it sometimes eats you up inside because you feel anti-social or like you alienate yourself....it's all OK! We are not all the same and that is what is so beautiful about us. We all have different strengths and weaknesses and things that make us tick. So join me in trying to just embrace the differences and work on being the best you that you can possibly be.

Here is what I continually try to work on. I'm all about lists.

1. STOP worrying about what other people think. It.does.no.good.
2 STOP comparing yourself to other people. It's like comparing apples to oranges. We are not the same. We do not look the same, we do not think the same, and we all have a different story. Make your story your own and don't worry about anyone else. Because everyone has their own battles.
3. Keep working on doing things to get me out of my comfort zone. Even if they are little things.
4. Don't beat myself up. Remind myself that I am strong, smart, caring, and unique. I want to view myself as God, my creator, views me.
5. Don't take life so seriously. We are here for such a short period of time. I need to stop worrying about yesterday. Stop worrying about tomorrow. And just take it one day at a time. Not everything in life needs to be planned out (as much as my type A OCD brain thinks it does). As my Pastor reminded us on Sunday....God gives us exactly enough of what we need to get through one day. The next day He will provide for that day. So just slow down and TRUST.

Making a Comeback

Last week my knee started to really bother me. The pain got to be so much that I had to go to urgent care Friday evening. I found out that I had sprained some knee ligaments and was told to hold off on working out until it healed. I may or may not have started crying right on the spot. I knew something was really wrong, but I guess I just wanted someone to tell me a different answer.

Working out is my therapy and my happy pill. I do it because it's such a huge part of my life and my mental health. Of course I do it for the physical rewards too!

So Friday through Wednesday the only thing I did was a few ab workouts and a couple upper body workouts - which I still had to modify because it hurt pretty bad to be up on my feet. I couldn't walk normal and my knee would pretty much give out when I walked. Going up and down the stairs was pretty rough and I definitely couldn't get comfortable.

But I took the doctors orders...I iced it several time a day. I didn't workout on it. I got plenty of sleep. I slept in every day until 6-7am and I just rested. It was VERY hard for me to do that. If you know me - you can understand.

Today my knee was feeling a lot better. So I decided to do a 21 Day Fix workout, just extremely modified with NO impact at all. Like I even did modified jumping jacks. I burned half the calories that I normally would with this particular workout - but I finished the 30 minutes with no pain to my knee. It was amazing how much weaker I felt already just taking a week off.

Anyway - it felt AMAZING to get moving again and my knee hasn't started hurting so I know I took it really easy. I'll probablly just play it by ear tomorrow to see if it's still feeling good enough to do anything else. One important thing I've learned through this is that I REALLY need to rest more. The few week leading up to the injury I was really going hard and doing way too much. Between my workouts at home and going to the gym to do more...I know it was just too much on my body. This is definitely one of the things I'm always working on....learning how to slow down. Lesson learned. Lesson learned.

That's the important thing though to note - I'm always learning. I may be a coach and I do help others along their journey...but I'm still ALWAYS on my own personal journey. I make dumb decisions. I don't rest enough. I don't get enough sleep. And I definitely have my own really bad days with food. I never claim to be perfect in any of this....I struggle just like everyone else.

I want to say a special thank you to my January challenge group ladies who have helped keep my spirits up during the last week. You girls inspire me every single day with how hard you work and with how inspiring you are to everyone around you. You think you are just changing your life - but in reality you are changing many lives around you when you don't even know it. You are showing people, by example, what it can mean to make healthy changes and to live a healthy lifestyle. That is a truly amazing thing!

Thank you for all the prayers on a quick healing. Let's hope I keep moving in a positive direction and I am ready to KICK BUTT when I start 21 Day Fix Extreme on February 16th. If you've been thinking of trying the 21 Day Fix or 21 Day Fix Extreme - now is the time because there are crazy good deals in February and my Fit in Feb Accountability group starts soon! Claim your spot and start your journey with me. We'll do it together! <3 Message me on facebook or email me to chat about the details and my special offers.
